An exhibition titled ‘Eight’, presented by the eight Artists in Residence (AiRs) from the Silversmithing & Jewellery Department at The Glasgow School of Art, will open to the public from 29 May to 4 June 2026 at the Windows on Heritage space.

The exhibition will launch with a private opening on Wednesday 27 May, from 6.00–9.00pm, followed by public opening hours from 10.00am–5.00pm, 29 May–4 June, coinciding with the GSA Degree Show period.

‘Eight’ explores themes of time and place, bringing together jewellery and objects created within a shared, communal workspace. As independent artists from varied backgrounds, each with distinct practices and ambitions, the exhibition reflects how working within a collective environment can influence and shape creative practice in diverse ways.

Set within the acclaimed Windows on Heritage space and presented alongside artefacts from the permanent collection of the GSA Archives, the exhibition captures a moment within The Glasgow School of Art’s living history. The 2026 Artists in Residence present work created during the 2025/26 academic year in the GSA Silversmithing & Jewellery workshops, using tools and equipment shared by generations of craftspeople before them. In doing so, ‘Eight’ marks each artist’s place within the institution’s continuing legacy, before they embark on their next professional steps.

Featuring work by: Tina Avery, Kyle Ferguson, Isabel Honey Coles, Duoduo Lin, Misha McLean, Militsa Milenkova, Bette Nunneley, and Beth Sanderson.

This exhibition is supported by the Scottish Funding Council and the GSA Careers Service.

About The Glasgow School of Art (GSA)

The Glasgow School of Art (GSA) is internationally recognised as one of Europe’s leading independent university-level institutions for education and research in the visual creative disciplines. Ranked eighth in the QS 2026 World University Subject rankings, the GSA is the only institution in Scotland in the global top 10 for art and design and one of only three institutions within the UK.
Our studio-based, specialist, practice-led teaching, learning and research draw talented individuals with a shared passion for visual culture and creative production from all over the world.  Originally founded in 1845 as one of the first Government Schools of Design, the School’s history can be traced back to 1753 and the establishment of the Foulis Academy delivering a European-style art education. Today, the GSA is an international community of over 3500 students and staff across architecture, design, fine art, innovation and technology in our campuses in Glasgow and Altyre (in the Scottish Highlands) and a thriving Open Studio programme delivering non-degree provision to over 1500 students annually.
