“Hannah Nixon came recommended,” says Homes & Interiors Scotland editor, Gillian Welsh. “Her illustrations are strong, interesting, humorous, too. The magazine
showcases established brands, but it is also
well-known for celebrating new names in design. The cover of the 100th issue
had to be memorable and different. Having art work drawn by a student on the
front cover ticked every box. Hannah understood the brief. She worked to the
deadline amending drafts where necessary. It wasn’t just her talent in drawing
that’s impressive, but her open approach to the job at hand.”

“I was
really pleased to be asked to illustrate the cover,” adds Hannah, “and was really
excited to have the opportunity, especially in my fourth year at the GSA.”

Hannah was asked to interpret a drawing of a
particular chair in her own style. Having suggested a variety of different
designs she then worked with the editorial team at the magazine to decide on
the finished design.
