- Dates for two-week event announced
- Winter School 2017 to be held at the GSA’s new
Highlands and Islands Creative Campus - Over 100 international students and
academics will gather for the event.

Glasgow School of Art’s Highlands and Islands second Winter School will take
place from January 16-27, 2017 it was confirmed today, 8 December 2016. It will
take place on the GSA’s new Highlands and Islands Creative Campus on the Altyre
Estate near Forres.

Around
100 international academics and students will attend the two-week event, which
will look at how past traditions can inspire future ways of working and in
particular the role that design can play. It includes a programme of lectures,
workshops, research, and joint projects with local businesses.

Students
from Köln International
School of Design (KISD) and Copenhagen’s KADK (The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of
Architecture, Design and Conservation) will join their GSA counterparts

Winter School

an opportunity to examine the application of design to address contemporary
challenges. The event helps to build collaborative relationships with design
schools, businesses and communities, as well as providing a boost
