Materials Matter – Remade, an exhibition of sculptural work produced by six 4th year Sculpture & Environmental Art students will be shown at Strange Field 4 – 6 November 105-109 French Street, Glasgow G40. The students have worked in collaboration with Midton over the past year producing work using Remade – a new plastic material composed of up to 70% factory waste.
Additional work will be on display from the 3rd year SEA project Materials Matter which sought to highlight the value of re-use and re-cycling in the production of contemporary sculpture.
“At Midton, we are passionate about supporting creatives, and encouraging new possibilities for artists. As an underappreciated, and underused material within the art sphere, we hoped for an opportunity to educate and engage a new generation of artists to see the benefits of using cast acrylic through their art. The creation and development of Remade presented the perfect opportunity to do this”.
Craig Cameron, Managing Director
