The posters were displayed in six different location across Glasgow last month and now seven of them will be added to work by alumni dating back to the 19th century held in the GSA Archives & Collections.
“The GSA’s Archives and Collections are pleased to acquire these posters created by GSA alumni in response to the Covid 19 pandemic,” says Susannah Waters. “They’re an important addition to our collections which include examples of work by students, alumni, and staff from the 19th century to the present day. The Archives & Collections continue to collect new material to document the wide range of creative outputs produced by GSA practitioners, and to illustrate how such work relates and contributes to life in Glasgow and beyond.”
COBOLT expressed their delight at the acquisition.
“It is fantastic to get these important artworks into the GSA Archives & Collections where they will continue to highlight the impact and importance of key workers during these strange times.
Our ethos has always been about spreading strong, uplifting messages of joy and optimism, and so we hope this cross section of key worker posters bring some colour and positivity for generations of students to come”
