NEWS RELEASE: The GSA’s global Art and Design position underlined

The Glasgow School of Art’s position as an international leader in Art and Design education has been underlined in the publication of the QS 2020 global university rankings. The GSA has been in the top 20 institutions for the last six years and in the 2020 rankings has retained its position as 8th in the World for the second year.
One of only three UK institutions to have made the top flight (the other two being in London) and the only Scottish institution in the top 50, the GSA is among august company in form of five leading US universities – including Parsons School of Design, MIT and the School of Art Institute, Chicago – and two high-profile European universities.
“The QS rankings are one of the most influential records of success in Higher Education,” says Prof Irene McAra-McWilliam, Director of The Glasgow School of Art.
“Our continued presence in the top flight of the Art and Design rankings is a recognition of the creative excellence for which The Glasgow School of Art is widely acclaimed.”
The influential QS University Rankings is an annual publication giving the global subject rankings across the world’s top universities. They are published by Quacquarelli Symonds
