News Release: Postgraduate Degree Show returns to Garnethill

Two showcases will be staged on the GSA campus in August and September 2022

 

 

Postgraduate Degree Show, the exhibitions of work by students graduating from taught Masters programmes at The Glasgow School of Art, will return to Garnethill this summer it has been confirmed. Public exhibitions will be staged across the campus giving audiences a chance to see in person some of the brightest art, architecture and design talent.

 

Fine Art

Students on the MLitt in Art Writing, MLitt in Curatorial Practice (Contemporary Art) and MLitt in Fine Art Practice will exhibit in the Stow Building (Shamrock Street) from 20 -26 August 2022. The showcase will be open to the public 10am – 8pm weekdays, and 10am – 6pm at weekends.

 

Architecture, Design, Innovation and Simulation and Visualisation

This showcase of work by four Schools will run in the Bourdon Building (Scott Street), Reid Building (Renfrew Street) and Haldane Building (Hill Street) from 3 – 9 September 2022. The showcase will be open to the public 10am – 8pm weekdays, and 10am – 6pm at weekends.

 

The exhibitions will feature work by students graduating with an MArch from the Mackintosh School of Architecture; with an MDes in Communication Design, Fashion + Textiles, Graphics /Illustration/ Photography, Interior Design and an MSc in Product Design Engineering from the School of Design; with an MDes from eight different Design Innovation programmes within the Innovation School; and with an MSc in Heritage Visualisation, Medical Visualisation and Human Anatomy, Serious Games and Virtual Reality and MDes in Sound for the Moving image within the School of Simulation and Visualisation

 

 “Every year our Masters students create inspiring and ground-breaking work much of it addressing key issues that we face as a society today,” says Professor Penny Macbeth, Director of The Glasgow School of Art.

“We are delighted to be welcoming the city back on to the campus for Postgraduate Degree Show to experience in person the creativity of this latest group of incredibly talented students.”
