Second and Third Year Communication Design students with their MTV logos

Second and Third year
Communication Design students from The Glasgow School of Art today unveiled
their designs for six giant MTV logos. The groups used a wide range of
materials from fur to p
lasticine in their designs which will now go on show
in venues across Glasgow ahead of next weekend’s
the 2014 MTV EMA Awards. People are invited to send selfies with the logos and upload
them to Instagram with #iwantmyEMAtix to win a pair of VIP tickets to the event, which will be broadcast live from The SSE Hydro on 9 November.


Fur, by third year students Fiona Hunter, Daniel Bekken, Zara Weir
and Jack Greenwell will be in show in the St Enoch Centre.

Dynamic Stripes by third year students Peter McKenna, Lois, Trudy
Hannah, Tiernan Crilley and Marie Campistron will be on show in Buchanan
Galleries.

Water by third year students Maurice Andresen, Nichamon Kittisimanont, Finn
Arschavir, Ceitidh Chalmers will be located in The Lighthouse

Fishtank by second year students Amir Saidani,
Juliette Duffy. Ava Williams, Lucy Watkins, Colin McIntyre and Matt Spratt will
be in The Garage.


 
Raindrops by second year students Holly McGowan

, Penuel Smith, Katherine Beckwith
, Lucy Grainge
, Bea Buckley,
Paul Gallagher and Pippa Lobban will be located in Merchant Square.


 
Plasticine by third year students Rachele
Dunn, Lucy Payne, Tom Joyes, Natalie Yung, Zaneta Drzymala and Megan Watkins
will
be on show in Princes Square.

SOCIAL MEDIA TRAIL GIVES FANS THE CHANCE TO WIN
TICKETS




Glasgow/London: Tuesday 4 November  MTV
in collaboration with The Glasgow School of Art, is today unveiling six giant
logos that will pop up across the city as part of the build up to the
2014 MTV EMA,
which will be broadcast from The SSE
Hydro, Glasgow
at 9pm on Sunday 9 November 2014.
Fans can find the six 8ft x 6ft logos in Buchanan
Galleries, St Enoch Centre, Princes Square, The Garage, Merchant Square and The
Lighthouse. Once they’ve found the statue they need to upload a selfie to
Instagram with
#IWantEMATix for a chance to win a pair of VIP tickets. The
more statues they find and upload, the better chance they have of winning. One
person will be selected at random and notified after 4pm on Saturday 8
November.
The logos have been created by six groups of Communication
Design students from The Glasgow School of Art, who were given free reign to
make the statues stand out as much as possible. The striking designs range from
multi coloured plasticine and neon orange fur to giant raindrops and a fish
tank.
